The inspiration behind the work…

Samson

aka: Doodlebug

Samson Clooney Marchi Tyler died unexpectedly. At 12yo, the quirky funny dog was my heart baby. THE ONE. The pet that reaches somewhere deep in your soul and shines love in places you never knew existed. Neurological issues caused his funny quirky behavior & one day it took over his body.

Our favorite Veterinarians, that watched Samson grow up, didn’t want to do the euthanasia, “Please don’t ask me to do that”. The shock set in. After 2 decades in the Veterinary industry I saw pet death inside the clinics, and its effects on the staff, in a whole new light.

After his passing, I moved into the pet aftercare space to help others who experience deep grief and trauma. Especially those that work with animals.

He is my reason why I do this work.

Dharma

aka: Poodle

Dharma Sila Tyler died of a mast cell tumor outside of her body at the young age of 12. I kept her alive longer than she wanted and she obliged because she always wanted to please. I kept her comfortable and she continuously remained by my side, sharing her love and wisdom. Her last few months weren’t easy but this brave strong little powerhouse taught me grace and dignity.

As my first small dog, I fell in love instantly when Samson rescued Dharma at the age of 2. They were best friends and she also played a special role in my life. She grieved deeply for Samson when he passed. So much so, I thought she was going to die. We worked through the grief and she taught a valuable lesson in how our pets grieve.

Anticipating the end, I created a beautiful end of life experience involving all that loved her. The rituals brought peace and though the emptiness remains, she’s still a part of daily life… and we continue to enjoy a deep connection and conversations.

Tilda

aka: Pigeon

MaTilda Fae Tyler is a spunky powerhouse full of love and intelligence. She’s only 5yo, yet she’s been diagnosed with lymphoma. She’s not ready to talk about it yet. She feels great with plenty of energy. But that day is coming. And when it does, it happens quickly, without warning. A terrible cancer… but aren’t they all.

Tilda brought so much joy in the house upon her rescue. She and Samson hit if off immediately, he acted like a young pup again. Dharma wasn’t happy about the situation. And resented her.

Too young to understand Samsons passing, she did however express her deep loss at Dharma’s death.

Life changed when her 2 month lymphoma prognosis came in, yet every day is a gift and she continuously reminds me about the importance of the unconditional love and connection our fur babies share.
